Beautifully hand crafted chocolate by the Mast Brothers of Brooklyn, New York. This is old school chocolate making at it’s finest. Their beans are sourced from family owned farms in countries such as Madagascar, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador. Saltwater Farm Vineyard of Stonington has this video summary of their October 31, 2009 Fall Harvest posted, and I thought this would be a good one to share with Connecticut Food and Wine readers. Giant pumkpin makes Connecticut history
This season hurri…tropical storm Irene and poor growing conditions have caused a pumpkin shortage in Connecticut. Even though the general pumpkin production suffered, it didn’t stop Ken Desrosiers of Broad Brook Connecticut, who took home first prize at the Durham fair this weekend from growing the largest Pumpkin in Connecticut history. This mammoth weighed 1487.5 lbs, but didn’t quite make the world record weight of 1,810 lbs.
